Freepoint Hotel | Hospitality

Sometimes hospitality isn’t about putting up four walls, stuffing a room with amenities, and rendering services based on a room’s siloed purpose. Occasionally, hospitality is more about knocking down those walls and discovering how the overlap of spaces can redefine service.

That’s what Freepoint Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts does so well. Rather than relying on corridors and definitive lines between its public spaces, Freepoint focuses on communal spaces that can allow the guest to be either tucked away or part of the conversation.

A waiting area with a bar next to the courtyard? Sign me up. Have some sips and some solitude or engage in a friendly game of pool with other guests (craft beer in hand).

Maybe you’re not the type to shut down the bar, but that’s okay. Instead, saunter out of your room in the AM for breakfast service in the same space you enjoyed an early-evening cocktail. Continental breakfast lovers need not apply.
